What to wear
Competitors were advised to wear shoes (definitely not wellies) and ones they didn't mind getting wet; the stretchers in the Tynemouth RC boats only had straps, so trainers or wetsuit boots were advised. Rowers were also told they would also be getting wet, up to knee deep or higher, so they were asked to bear this in mind when choosing clothing.
Parking
Parking was close by, either in the free unrestricted car park opposite the top of the steep road down to the clubhouse or at Spanish Battery on the point above the club, which is chargeable.
