Parking and local circulation advice

Prior’s Haven car park (at the top of the slope above the rowing club and as we we use for the Great Tyne Row) is free and with an unrestricted time limit on Sundays. However, there are limited spaces and it’s difficult to get one during the summer months with queues forming often from 10.00 onwards.

Spanish Battery car park (on the headland above the club) is pay and display (an app may be required) and it is £3.00 to park for a whole day.

Low Lights car park is about 12-15 minutes walk away (along the river) at North Shields Fish Quay is free and not time restricted.

There is limited on street parking about 5 minutes walk from Tynemouth Village but again fills up early.  The paid parking on the coastal road between the village and the Grand Hotel is currently suspended to allow for building of cycle lanes!

The coastal road from the Castle Inn Hotel to the bank leading down to the club is now North Bound only,  diversions are in place or check your maps for alternative routes.

Or use the Metro - no planned works (but check) on Sunday
